The international exhibition of cinema and comics in the Near East has announced the launch of its first short film competition, which this year is centered around the theme "Power." The competition highlights talents and creative stories in the UAE, providing a unique platform for showcasing local creative potential. Winners will receive cash prizes of up to 10,000 dirhams, as well as the opportunity to present their films on the main stage of the festival.
The application submission is available until the 21st of this month; selected films will be announced on March 27, and winners will be named on April 18. The chosen films will be presented on the main stage of the exhibition, which runs from April 18 to 20 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The duration of participants' films must be between six to eight minutes, correspond to the theme "Power," and be in English or Arabic with English subtitles.
The competition is open to all emerging and professional filmmakers residing in the UAE.
